Boys will be Boys
If you have been following my page you should now. I have three boys 9, 15 months and almost 4 weeks. My older son is really into Washington Capitals like his daddy. They play hockey during the intermissions of the game. My husband bought little indoor hockey sticks for the two boys but my husband and sons play together.
update on sleeping thur the night
Day 3
Was a little better, he actually feel asleep by his self while watching TV. He asked for his cup sat on the ground and watched TV with us and fell to sleep. We moved him to his bed and he slept in there until 3:30 then he came into our room and went back to sleep. He did not ask for a cup of milk until the alarm went off around 6.

Decided on drinking material for your child
I know a lot of people use bottle for their children and there is all types of them out there. I found that the Dr. brown bottles are really nice because they have different nipples for different ages. My sister liked the bottles with the bags because it was less mess to clean up and after they were done they just threw away the bag. So my suggesting is try a couple of different types until you found one you like and one the baby likes. A lot of bottle now are BPA free. BPA stands for Bisphenol A which is a chemical that 95% of bottles are made of unless it states BPA free. It's a chemical that makes the plastic and it's a synthetic sex hormone that mimics estrogen and when the bottle is heated it can release the chemical and create developmental problems in a baby.
2nd day sleeping thur the night
Last night we gave my 14 month old his cup and we read 2 books. Then he laid down and fell asleep on my lap. So we moved him to his bed and got him settle in. He woke up at 2 o'clock , my husband put him back in his bed gave him a little bit of milk and rubbed his back until he fell asleep. Well 3:30 he woke up again this time i was feeding my youngest and my 14 month would not go back to sleep in his bed so we let him come back to our bed. My thought was we made it to 3:30 now tonight we will have to make it to 4 before he is allowed in our bed. Like i said before it is hard because of having the baby but if we keep with it we will have him sleeping in his own bed soon enough. Just remember after a little while it will be worth it. You will have your bed back and not have to worry about hurting your child or having their diaper leak or having a accident in your bed.
Hope you had a good night too. Please keep me updated on your progress.

When to cut your sons hair
I have a 14th month old that was born with a lot of hair. I took him for a hair cut once and they really made it look bad. Me and my mom has trimmed it up but it is getting to the point where people are thinking he is a girl. I really need to get it shaped but me and my husband loves his hair and just want it shaped not cut short. I am not sure what we should do? Please leave me some comments and let me know what we should do.
Getting my 14month old to sleep in room all night
Every sense i bought my baby home my 14th month old will not sleep all night in his room. I Have not been able to really get him to stay in his room. We will be starting a routine today to try to get him to stay in his room without his cup. I had the hardest time breaking my older son from needed a drink at night. It is very hard on me and harder on my husband because we get no sleep. My husband has to go to work so he really needs some sleep. This is what i plan on doing.
1. We will go to his bed and read a story and drink our milk cup.
2. then he will lay in his bed and i will sit on the floor next to it.
3. when he does fall to sleep we will tuck him in and go to bed.
4. when he wakes up i will go to his room tuck him back in and rub his back maybe even read another story or listen to a lullaby.
5. we will do this every time he gets up and see how he does.
I will keep updating you every day and give you advice . Please give me your advice too.

Trust your instincts
In November of 2009, my son was diagnosed with pneumonia. He was treated with an antibiotic for 10 days. I called the doctor on the 10th day due to him being up all night and having trouble breathing and he was grunting as he breathed. I called and they originally told me to try to make it thru the weekend, because he was still on the antibiotic and he just needed more time. But 30 min. after talking to the doctor on the phone, my son was getting worst. So I called the doctor back and told them I was bringing him in. When I got there, my son was screaming really bad and I could not get him to calm down .

Brotherly Love
It is nice to have 3 boys and to watch how they all get along with each other. I have a 9 year old, a 14 month old, and a 2 week old...all boys. After 8 years of my oldest being a only child, we found out we were pregnant. I was afraid of how he would act. To my surprise he was excited and we made sure we included him in all the special events. When we went to found out what we were having, we let him go with us and he thought it was the coolest thing to see the baby. Then when I had the baby he was the first person we let come in and hold the baby. He felt so special . When we found out we were having our last child, to our surprise he was excited again. HE is the greatest big brother and tries to help us all the time. Since I had my youngest I have not been able to pick up my middle child and my oldest has been a huge help. My 14 month old loves to give the baby kisses and hugs all the time, and if the baby is crying he comes and gets us. It's just going to take time to teach him how to be careful with the baby. He is also a mommy's boy so he loves to be on my lap. I have learned how to hold them both, even when I am breast feeding. Making time for both my little ones.
Here is what I have learned if you have a child and decided to have another. I would suggest involving your child as much as possible to make them feel special. I think if you included them, they will accept the baby much more. Some people i know don't allow their child to help with the baby and their children are not excited as much as my son is with the baby. I have learned to show them how to hold the baby and what they can and can not do. It makes life a lot easier because they understand the importance of what they can and can not do.

Sleep
Well when you are breast feeding as we all know your husband can not help. This means you are stuck up all hours of the night feeding the baby. Don't get me wrong breast feeding is great but the lack of sleep catches up with you . Here is what I have found out helps. Now I have my two younger kids home. 2 weeks and 14 months so it makes it a little harder but if you can get both kids down for a nap together take one with them. If you don't have two kids it is much easier to nap when the baby naps. Also when your other half comes home and you all are sitting around relaxing don't be afraid to take a small nap let them try to keep the baby quite for a little bit so you can catch up . Another helpful thing is go to a relative so they can keep an eye on the kids while you take a nap. Soon enough you will not be able to nap as much so take advantage of it while you can. But Never sleep with your baby in your arms or in the bed with you. Make sure the baby is in a safe place. Either a crib or a bassinet. Also if the baby is being quite and just laying awake at night don't be afraid to sleep as long as they are in a safe place they will be fine and they will let you know when they need something.
Recovering still
OK so i was told after i had my baby i could not drive for 2 weeks and could not pick nothing up over 10lbs for 4 weeks. Well I can finally drive and it feels great not to have to ask people to take me place but here is my problem. I have my 14 month old who is at least 24 lbs if not more. So when i go out if he falls asleep i am in big trouble. So if you are on restriction on how much you can pick up make sure you don't go to far so that your older one does not fall asleep. Also I can not carry the baby in the car seat so anywhere i go i have to take stroller or carrier. The best thing to do until you are fully recovered and the doctor releases you from everything is take someone with you or make sure someone will be at the place you are going to help you. I have learned that i need to take it easy and ask for help from my husband or my family so that i will heal . if you are anything like me and think you can do it put your pride aside and accept the help. I keep over doing my self and keep starting to bleed heavy again. You need to look at the big picture and know that down the line you will be full force again and you don't want any problems then.

Breastfeed
I have breast feed all three of my children. Every time it was a different experience. With my two youngest ones I found out that it makes a different if your son or daughter is tongue tied which is more common then known .(This is where their tongue is attached to the bottom of their mouth more then it should be). You should ask your hospital to have an ENT to cut it while at the hospital. This is not painful at all and they will not remember it . With my youngest I had this done and he latched on much better which made my milk came in a lot faster then with my middle child who I waited until I left the hospital to have his tongue cut. Now if you do breastfeed I will let you know it does hurt for the first couple of days until you get the baby latched on the correct way. The Nurses at the hospital should help and make sure the baby is latching on the correct way. Make sure you use the cream on your nipples. I do believe that breastfeeding helps shrink you stomach faster because it makes you have contractions which is normal and this makes your stomach shrink. I gave my middle child a bottle with formula and tried to breastfeed because of the tongue tied issue and my milk never came in fully. So for the first couple of weeks even months I would suggest not to give your child formula. But i think it is a good idea to offer a bottle of breast milk just in case something happens and you can not breastfeed them. This is some of the things i have learned with my experience of breastfeeding. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave one and leave your email with any questions and i will try to help you.

Healing after delivery
Well it is much harder this time then last two times to heal. The doctor told me not to pick nothing up over ten lbs. well my 14 month is 24 lbs. My husband has been a lot of help but it is hard now that he is back to work. If i did not have my mother not sure what i would do. I will tell you this DO NOT push your self. I tired to do to much and started to bleed heavy again. So here is some helpful advice. First accept the help that people are offering to you. Second take it easy and don't over do it. Relax and sit on your butt as much as possible. once you are better you will be running around crazy. Finally if you have to go some wheres always ask for help from friends and family, they will be willing to help because that means they get to hold the baby. lol.. please give me your thoughts and any ideas that might help someone else.

raising two children under age 2
Hey there i am April I am a stay at home mom with 3 boys ranching from 9 years to new born. I just had a baby 12 days ago and i have a 14 month old. I am in for an adventure. So far in the 12 days my 14 month old has try to help with the baby a lot. He loves to try to give the baby kisses. I still cant hold my 14 month old and he is the biggest moms boy. I am trying to potty train him so that i don't have two in diapers. He is now getting interested in me breastfeeding the baby. I breastfeed all my boys but i am worried he is going to try to go back to it. Having three boys is going to be fun. Trying to get a routine down before sports start for my oldest. Please check back daily for updates and experience. Please leave comments and questions along with email so we can help each other.
